Fans of Italian Food in Perth Amboy have a new spot to add to their list. Ciro’s Italian Restaurant, Pizzeria & Bar is now open and ready to serve. The family-friendly eatery seats about 60 outdoors under the shade of multiple umbrellas. Under normal circumstances, the colorful interior can seat about 300 guests at capacity as well.
Chef and Owner Ciro Cardamuro had no doubt about choosing Perth Amboy as the ideal place to open Ciro’s. “Perth Amboy is a beautiful city with great people,” he says. “The restaurant is also in a good location and close to the water. We felt comfortable and confident that this was the right city to open an Italian restaurant.”

Born and raised in Italy, Cardamuro began cooking at seven years old in his home near Naples. By age 14, the eager chef moved to Milan and started working at restaurants. Then he came to the United States at age 35, operating multiple restaurants across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. For instance, his previous experiences include his time as chef at Caffe Aldo Lamberti in Cherry Hill; as well as Positano Ristorante & Pizzeria in Toms River.
Ciro’s Offers Gourmet Pizza & Signature Dishes
If you want something beyond your basic pizza pie, Ciro’s is the right place. Of course, they offer all the traditional toppings; but you’ll also see gourmet options like a “Taco Pie” with ground beef, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cheddar, and mozzarella. Likewise, lasagna lovers will want to order lasagna pizza; you can expect lasagna noodles, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and ground beef. A familiar favorite you may want to try from Ciro’s, however, is the Chicken parm pie. “We’re always trying to find new ideas,” Cardamuro says of the ever-expanding menu.
Not in the mood for pizza? Don’t worry, Ciro’s offers an array of options such as paninis, sandwiches, gnocchi, burgers, chicken, seafood, pasta, and veal. In fact, gnocchi lovers have four options that include “gnocchi gorgonzola” and “gnocchi mama” to choose from.
