New Jersey Hall of Fame Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary

The New Jersey Hall of Fame is celebrating a milestone achievement at its 2018 Induction Ceremony. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the awards presentation. So far, the night includes 16 new inductees plus an Unsung Hero (more on that later). From writers and performers to athletes and entrepreneurs, this year’s induction ceremony features a distinguished collection of honorable New Jerseyans.

After an extensive selection process, the New Jersey Hall of Fame committee announced its list of inductees earlier this year. The Class of 2017 inductees include individuals who’ve made a large impact in NJ and, in some cases, the world. This time around, inductees include The Four Seasons; celebrity chef Cake Boss Buddy Valastro; Olympic soccer star Carli Lloyd; best-selling author Harlan Coben; astronauts Mark and Scott Kelly, and a number of others.

The 2018 New Jersey Hall of Fame is a Milestone Event

“The [New Jersey] Hall of Fame’s mission is to celebrate the state of New Jersey, to honor our legends and to inspire the children of New Jersey by offering them positive role models,” said New Jersey Hall of Fame Foundation president Steven Edwards.

Overall, this year’s ceremony incorporates five categories for its inductees, plus an Unsung Hero award. The categories are Arts & Letters, Enterprise, Performing Arts, Public Service and Sports. The Unsung Hero recognizes an individual who is an outstanding member of their community, the state and the country. The organization will announce the Unsung Hero later this month.

As usual, the Red Carpet Induction Ceremony is returning to Paramount Theater in Asbury Park. Tickets are already sold out for the event, which promises to be a special evening. General reception in the Convention Hall begins at 5:00 pm; afterwards, the induction ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 pm. At this time, according to their website, all living inductees are expected to attend. 2008 inductee Meryl Streep will also make an appearance.

The New Jersey State Legislature signed a law creating the New Jersey Hall of Fame back in 2005. This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization praises the excellence and dignity of our great state. Since the first induction ceremony a decade ago, the organization has celebrated more than 125 honorees.
