You know them, you love them and your social media pages are flooded with them: Memes have become one of the most popular forms of media on the internet. These humorous images usually accompanied by clever text are often relatable and inevitably brighten your social media experience. But who makes them? Creative and imaginative types like Instagram’s George Resch — aka Tank Sinatra — that’s who.
For this episode of One-on-One with Steve Adubato, meme creator George Resch sat down with the show’s host. During the segment, Steve Adubato, PhD., discovers how Resch started his career; and additionally how, through his Tank Sinatra persona, he has been able to connect with people around the world.

Instagram Star Tank Sinatra Talks Memes
Resch goes by the handle of “Tank Sinatra” on Instagram. Through the creation of internet memes, he has been able to communicate and bond with countless people. Resch created his Instagram profile back in 2011 and now has more than one million followers. Surprisingly, he works by himself to create a number of side-splitting memes regularly. His work has received recognition the world over and his page is one of the most popular on social media.
Recently, Resch published his very first book entitled Happy is the New Rich. It contains “very short, concise directions or reflections that I’ve collected over ten years of just trying to figure life out.”
In truth, the book sort of happened by accident. “I didn’t mean to write a book. I really had no intention while I was jotting these things down,” he admits.
In an effort not to forget clever, thought-provoking ideas, Resch began writing most of his thoughts down. As a result, many of his best ideas are a part of the book.
