Dan Mannarino & The Circle Up Foundation Aid Local Community

Growing up, many kids aspire to make a difference in their communities and across the country. Those able to achieve these visions often do so through their various careers. Public servants, doctors, nurses, military personnel and others improve lives every day. In addition to these examples, Journalism is another vocation that serves the people. Journalists, such as PIX11 Morning News Anchor Dan Mannarino, dedicate themselves to serving their communities.

That’s why Steve Adubato, PhD., host of One-on-One with Steve Adubato, spoke to Mannarino in a recent episode. Mannarino, also a co-founder of the Circle Up Foundation, discussed his journalism background and role at PIX11. He also commented on the impact his non-profit organization is making.

Dan Mannarino & The Circle Up Foundation Support Special Needs Community

A Wood-Ridge native, Dan Mannarino developed an interest in journalism while attending Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. A journalist guest speaker visited one of his classes and discussed elements of the field that captured Mannarino immediately.

“It was the opportunity to hold people accountable in certain situations,” Mannarino said of journalism. “It was the opportunity to reach out to communities that you were part of at one point, serve, and bring a message of hope and positivity.”

Dan Mannarino has been able to spread that hope and positivity in more ways than just through his journalism. Two years ago, he and several colleagues founded the Circle Up Foundation to support programming for people with special needs. The foundation raises money for organizations that work toward the advancement of individuals in the community. In addition, the foundation offers a scholarship fund for high school students who dedicate themselves to serving their community.

“When you can reach out to members of your community and see the impact that you’re making, that is what makes everything else seem like it’s nothing,” Mannarino stated.

Through his journalism and the Circle Up Foundation, Dan Mannarino has balanced a complex career. Want to learn more about his new role at PIX11 and the Circle Up Foundation? Then check out this segment of One-on-One with Steve Adubato.
