Activate Offers Indoor Fun For Date Night Or Friends

It can be tough to find ways to have fun during the colder months, as outdoor activities become uncomfortable. That’s what makes Activate at American Dream perfect for friends, families, and couples looking to have a good time. This interactive gaming experience offers mental puzzles, physical challenges, and competitive scoring to keep everyone engaged.

Activate offers significant others, friends, and families (children must be 10-years-old or older) a dose of fun, healthy competition. It’s also a great way to stay warm indoors while spending quality time together. Tickets cost just $24.99 Monday-Thursday and $29.99 Friday-Sunday; so a trip to Activate can be less expensive than an evening at the movies. Activate recommends booking a reservation online, but also accepts walk-ins if space is available.

A Great Physical & Mental Workout

Once players enter and set up an account to keep track of scoring, the fun begins. Groups from 2 – 5 players have 45 minutes to play any activity, in any order, as often as they like. In particular, Activate features nine activity rooms and hundreds of ways to play. Each game room lets players tackle numerous difficulty levels and game variations.

Each room requires players to use a different skill set as groups work together to solve increasingly difficult challenges. Groups can keep it simple and select the easier challenges for some lighthearted fun; or crank up the difficulty and go head-to-head tracking points to see who is carrying the team. Some challenges can work up a sweat, so players are encouraged to store a water bottle in their on-site locker.

Each time a group completes a room challenge, Activate unlocks the next difficulty and additional game variations to play. Regardless of whether a room is successfully completed, players earn Stars individually on an electronic wristband. This is how Activate tracks achievements and keeps score. Before leaving, players can check their Star count and see if they have enough to earn a physical prize. Prizes range from basketballs to discounts on future visits to Activate.

Games include the Grid, an interactive experience with 256 pressure-sensitive, color-changing tiles that challenge players to step on or avoid specific tiles to complete each round. Then there’s Mega Grid (which is twice the size of Grid); this room tests gamers’ thinking as they race to the right highlighted tile and freeze into statues when prompted. Plus, it has a window so mall- goers can watch players compete.

Another popular game at Activate is Laser, which makes players feel like a secret agent. The challenge requires each member of the group to carefully maneuver and navigate through a changing sequence of lasers. Each stage’s time limit forces players to react fast in order to reach the safe zone on the other side. Avoid tripping a laser beam to achieve the highest score.
