May 8, 2016 is Mother’s Day. This day was created to honor moms, and the influence mothers have in society. It is always celebrated the second Sunday of May. Anna Jarvis started the modern Mother’s Day in 1908 after she held a memorial for her mother. To celebrate, you could give your mom a nice card, take her out to eat, or let her relax. Joseph’s Restaurant in Egg Harbor City is having a Mother’s Day celebration. From 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm they will be offering a special menu featuring fresh seafood, steaks, veal, lamb, and pasta. There will be a selection of wines, beers, and spirits as well. For more information, call 609-965-2111.
Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford is offering a Mother’s Day brunch, dinner buffet, and dinner a la cart. There will also be live entertainment. The event lasts from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. For more information, call 856-845-8200.
May 8 is also National Coconut Cream Pie Day, No Socks Day, and National Student Nurses Day.
