Details: Known for its elegant weddings, Fernbrook Farms probably wouldn’t immediately come to mind when thinking of vacation camps. Indeed, it not only offers camp but also afterschool activities that have children observing the winter ecosystem and doing winter-inspired art projects. Upcoming vacation day camps are scheduled for February 17, 20 & 21. The camp is for children 6 to 11 years old and runs from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm with early drop-off and late pick-up options available. Details: At The Gagasphere, kids and adults are embracing gaga, which has been called a “kinder, gentler version of dodgeball.” In addition to birthday parties and private sessions, the facility offers mini camps during school breaks. Holiday camp is scheduled on February 20 and 21 for the President’s Day break. Elizabeth Carr, a physical education instructor from Hillsdale, oversees the camp, which is geared toward children ages 5-12. It runs from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and the cost is $65 per day.

Details: All three Hoop Heaven locations offer mini camps during President’s Day break and throughout the year. Billing itself as “New Jersey’s basketball mecca,” this is the place for any kid who wants to be like Mike. Experienced coaches help children improve their basketball skills with an emphasis on shooting. Full-day campers can bring their own lunch or order pizza from the camp. Kids in grades kindergarten and up are eligible. Cost is $45 for half day, $75 for full day or $140 for two full days.

Details: Kids U could be the answer if your kid isn’t necessarily the sporty type. This place has it all, including gymnastics, rock climbing, cooking, science, music, crafts, dance and martial arts. Vacation Day camps, which last 3 to 5 hours per day, provide a sampling of all the offerings to kids ages 3 to 9. President’s Day camp is available on February 17 and February 20 through 24. The cost ranges from $55 to $70 per day, depending on the hours.

Monroe Center Movement Space

Details: Children can explore the art of creative movement, dance, yoga and theater at Monroe Center.
