It’s no simple task to both exist in the modern world and maintain an old world charm, but it’s something that The Park Savoy Estate has down to a science. This is one of many reasons the sprawling Florham Park mansion was recently named “The Most Gorgeous Wedding Venue in New Jersey” by PureWow, a site dedicated to “Women’s Fashion, Beauty, Life Hacks & Recipes.”

There’s history abound in this beautiful mansion, which was built as a family home nearly 150 years ago in 1870. Since then, the original structure has served many purposes, but it remains as elegant and inviting as the day it was built.

A Brief History of The Park Savoy

In 2011, The Park Savoy began its newest chapter as the premier wedding venue in New Jersey. Business partners Barry Maurillo, Joe Maurillo and Vito Cucci – who also own Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville and the soon-to-be-open Park Chateau Estate & Gardens – purchased the estate with the vision to feature contemporary designs while allowing the charm of the cozy fireplaces, Cathedral ballroom windows and rich wooden accents to speak of the past.

The “house” — or rather, the “bones” of the house — are still present from the original structure, which was a farm back in the 1870s. During the Prohibition era, the home had a life as the most famous speakeasy in the North East, owned by Lucky Luciano and members of his syndicate. The warmth and charm are still present in the mansion, reborn through the renovation which brought in softer earth tones while retaining the history of the original structure.

As Cucci explains, “The original structure was built in the late 1800s with exterior Victorian inspiration. For the interior design renovation, we were inspired by the great mansions of Newport, with a bit of a European flare in both the English and French styles.”

Their inspiration clearly shines through. Upon entering the mansion, guests are met with a breathtaking staircase before the natural light of the cocktail and ballrooms draws them further inside. Party-goers could just as easily be walking into a grand ball at the turn of the century as compared to an elegant wedding of today.

What Makes The Park Savoy the Most Gorgeous Wedding Venue

Cucci admitted that the most difficult part of the renovation was, “bringing the facility up to today’s standards without losing its charm.” He also added that he believes that they were successful because they “were able to create a venue that feels like ‘anything but a catering facility,’ while giving clients and their guests a world-class experience.”

In addition to the mansion itself, the Park Savoy features an elaborate back garden perfect for outdoors ceremonies. The Park Savoy is located at 236 Ridgedale Ave in Florham Park. To book an appointment or schedule a guided tour, call 973-377-7100 or visit
