The Lobster House
Overlooking the sparkling waters of Cape May Harbor in New Jersey, the Lobster House features attentive service, amazing views and delectable cuisine. The kitchen at the Lobster House specializes in prime seafood, bought fresh from the net and served up in style. If you’re hunting for the right spot to hold your wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, or a party for a friend, you may have just found the perfect location.
The Lobster House boasts five beautiful dining rooms, some small and intimate, others large and grand. Each room has unique, charming decor and panoramic views of Cape May. You’ll love the huge, rustic beams overhead, the ship’s wheel light fixtures in one dining space, and the ocean-themed trinkets, trophies and artwork that add to the charm of the place.
In 2014, the Lobster House opened a fantastic outdoor dining space called The Pier. Located right next to the Lobster House building, the Pier features huge white tents covering a long section of the boardwalk, strung with twinkling lights and decorated with tasteful pennants and planters. Enjoy the breeze from Cape May as you relax at a table and enjoy succulent lobster, a crab cake sandwich, or the Port & Starboard specialty, consisting of half a stuffed broiled lobster and a petite filet mignon.
The Raw Bar at the Lobster House has its own separate area, with rustic sea-themed decor reminiscent of an old-time boat-house. Fishing memorabilia, wood-paneled walls, and industrial fixtures complement the polished tables and black-and-white photographs on the walls. Open May through October, from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, the Raw Bar offers up raw oysters and clams on ice, along with lobster, burgers, salads, soup, sandwiches, and hard shell crabs. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are also available. Grab your favorite Raw Bar food and drink and go outdoors to eat dockside!
At the Lobster House, you’ll also find The Schooner American. This beautiful boat is the ideal spot to hold a cocktail reception, a light dinner, or a luncheon as you breathe the sea air and view the yachts gliding past the dock. The schooner is 130 feet long and has been a special feature of the Lobster House since 1965. It operates during the hours of Noon through 10:00 pm, May through October, whenever the weather is fine.
