Grab a bottle of your favorite wine and head over to the Poached Pear Bistro, an upscale BYOB dining spot that prides itself on classic dishes with a unique twist. The signature achievement at the Poached Pear is its eponymous poached pear delicacy, which stands deliciously alone as a special treat or makes an appearance in various forms throughout the menu.
The ambiance at the Poached Pear is minimalistic elegance, from the crisp white and soft gray of the dining space to the sleek lines of the chairs and tables. The clean lines and neutral tones of the decor provide the perfect setting in which to enjoy the luscious, decadent dishes served up by the award-winning team of chefs.
Executive chef Scott Giordano leads the kitchen at the Poached Pear Bistro, while pastry chef Teah Evans lends her expertise to appetizers, entrees, desserts. Evans won a competition on the TV show “Chopped,” in which chefs compete to create the best dishes from ingredients in a “mystery basket.” Together, she and Chef Giordano make a masterful team.
Begin your experience at the Poached Pear with the signature starter Pear Pizzetta, or try asparagus fries, potato gnocchi or Cajun-fried calamari. Among the many delicious entrees you’ll want to taste are the Apple Cider Brined Pork Chop, the Veal Vol Au Vent, the Rack of Lamb Persillade, and the Duck Breast and Foie Gras. For vegetarians, the bistro offers delicious alternatives like the vegtarian risotto, and the menu also lists a number of gluten-free options. Sides like herb-roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, green beans with shallot butter and truffle-whipped potatoes complement each entree beautifully.
The “Little Pears” section of the Poached Pear menu is just for kids, and includes beloved treats like macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and fries, and flat-bread pizza. For little ones with discerning tastes, the bistro offers a petite filet mignon or a miniature filet of grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. Since the Poached Pear Bistro is known for its pears, you’ll want to try the Caramel Panna Cotta with Poached Pears for dessert.
