In 1897, Harry “call me Dock” Dougherty believed there was a great opportunity in Atlantic City to open a restaurant that would serve the finest seafood available in a clean, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. And so he opened Dock’s Oyster House, with 60 seats, no liquor license and very high standards. After 120 years, this restaurant has grown to include both a liquor license and quite a bit more dining space for those who love their fresh, delicious seafood and some of the best oysters in Atlantic County.
Seafood is the star of the show at this restaurant in Atlantic County. For appetizers, you can choose fried oysters, Clams Casino, grilled octopus, broiled oysters, and steamed clams. Chowder and oyster stew also pair well with the starters. You can also get a Caesar, beet, or Dock’s House Salad as an additional precursor to the meal.
Just a few of the entrees on the menu are Crispy Wasabi Tuna, lobster tail, Pan-Sautéed Crab Cakes, and Dock’s Seafood Fry. You and your guests can enjoy a succulent spread of mussels, shrimp, lump crab, tuna sashimi, clams, chilled lobster, ceviche, and several different types of oysters from the raw bar. For those not craving seafood, Dock’s Oyster House offers other options as well. These include lamb, sirloin, and filet mignon.
