Look at the weather forecast. Then look at the calendar. (Yep, it’s November.) Then look at the weather forecast again. That’s right, Garden State residents will enjoy unseasonably warm temperatures — expected to be in the mid-60s! — this weekend.
So put down the remote and head outside! Here’s where you can go to enjoy the weather while you can, because a dreaded snowy nor’easter can’t be too far behind.
More from Best of NJ
- The leaves are starting to fall from the trees, but there’s still time to enjoy the glorious fall foliage the Garden State has to offer. Check out list of the 8 best hiking trails where you can get a front-row seat to all the golds, oranges and reds. (And don’t miss what the State Forestry Service had to say about this year’s foliage forecast.)
- It’s the last weekend to enjoy pick-your-own produce at many of the state’s local farms. Head on out and grab peaches, pumpkins, and more from a participating farm near you (list here).
- Stop looking at the world through a screen. Put your smartphone down, head to one of New Jersey’s gorgeous local parks, and pick up a book — preferably a book bought at one of the state’s independent bookstores. Make sure you grab a coffee to-go from one of Jersey’s 10 best coffee shops — as decided by Best of NJ readers — before hitting the park.
- Fright Fest may be over (see pics of all the fun here), but Great Adventure is still open — and the rides are most definitely working. Head on over to visit Kingda Ka, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in North America. Or, you can slow things down a bit at Grape Adventure, a wine festival featuring almost 150 local wines.
- Speaking of wine, New Jersey’s local vineyards are bursting with must-try wines this season. Check out our sommelier’s list of 10 local wines to try this fall, then sit in your backyard — or a friend’s backyard — for a wine-tasting session.
- Looking for a non-alcoholic, seasonal beverage to enjoy? Visit the Howell Living History Farm to try your hand at cider-making.
