A hoard of the undead descends upon the peaceful seaside town of Absury Park. They stagger through the boardwalk in tattered bloodstained clothing, their terrifying moans filling the air. Their gnarled, grey hands reach out, to take…selfies?
These zombies aren’t the flesh-hungry monsters from The Walking Dead — although you wouldn’t know it from the expert-level makeup jobs sported by the participants — but part of Asbury Park’s annual Zombie Walk, which took place on October 10. (It was postponed a week due to Hurricane Joaquin.) Wannabe-Zs could get made-up on site — or come prepared for the stagger through the boardwalk, into the streets of downtown.
There were zombie lumberjacks! Zombie marionettes! Even a mini-Beetlejuice and zombie Lydia! Take a look at some of the scariest pics below — and then check out Best of NJ’s guide of the Best Places in NJ to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse.
You know, just in case.
