There is no shortage of cafes and coffee shops in New Jersey. But The Plant Lady’s House in Oakhurst combines the comfort of a cozy cafe with a plant nursery. The shop offers more than 300 house plants for sale, ranging from common varieties to rare and exotic plants.
“The Plant Lady’s House is a homey and calm but happy space,” says owner Núbia Oliveira. “It is feminine, warm and cozy. I wanted to create the vibe of being inside someone’s home…literally being at The Plant Lady’s House.”

Plants & Pastries
In fact, there are plants all over the shop; on bookshelves, coffee tables, and hanging from the ceiling. Plant-themed artwork (also for sale) adorns the walls. “The plants are loved and well-cared for here,” she says. All inventory comes from family-owned nurseries. The Plant Lady’s House also provides free plant care guidance regardless of where plants were purchased.
Meanwhile, food comes from Cozy Corner Bakery in Atlantic Highlands. Enjoy baked goods like the popular Greek yogurt bagels, coffee cake, and croissants. Seasonal treats are brought in weekly from a local baker.
For beverages, the coffee shop serves coffee and espresso drinks made with Italian coffee. “We truly care about the quality of what we serve,” Núbia says. Their Nutella latte is a fan favorite, along with pistachio affogato. They also offer hot chocolate, matcha, organic teas (loose-leaf tea bags are for sale), and seasonal drinks.
About The Plant Lady’s House
Originally from Brazil, Núbia lived in Philadelphia for nearly a decade before moving to Eatontown, NJ in 2022. Her parents were always into plants (her dad favored orchids). So the idea of having a plant and coffee shop was always in her mind. During the COVID lockdown, Núbia was home caring for nearly 250 plants. She has always loved owning plants and taking care of them.
Núbia also uses the space to host events. One previous example is a Sound Therapy and Guided meditation class. Other events include a Valentine’s Day-themed day and yoga classes.
