There is so much more to martial arts than kicking and punching. At ONE Taekwondo Martial Arts in Pompton Lakes, students build confidence and learn tools for self-improvement, discipline, and resilience. These everyday skills help students become the strong, respectful, and confident leaders of tomorrow.
Open since May 2025, ONE Taekwondo is a 1,500-square-foot space for learning martial arts techniques. “I’m excited to build a place where families can come together, children can grow in confidence, and adults can pursue health and discipline,” says Master Jaeyoung Lee.

Martial Arts Classes for Every Level
Beginner classes are popular, especially for students who are just starting out and want to build focus and confidence. These classes are Master Lee’s favorite to teach, as it allows him to witness the impact of Taekwondo changing lives. “It’s inspiring to watch shy students open up, grow in confidence, and surprise themselves with what they can accomplish. It’s truly why we do this,” he says.
In fact, Master Lee says they focus on more than martial arts. They emphasize character development, respect, discipline, and perseverance. Programs are structured, professional, and family friendly, while still being fun and engaging for students.
Programs include Toddler Class (Ages 4-5) Children’s Class (6-12), Teen Class (13-17), and Adult Class (18+). They also host a Family Class, which is a great bonding activity for families of all sizes.
ONE Taekwondo also hosts events like birthday parties and belt testing. As students grow, they can participate in demonstration team and competitions. “We strive to nurture children into becoming leaders who can later help teach other students after training,” Master Lee explains.
About ONE Taekwondo
Master Lee brings over 20 years of martial arts experience to ONE Taekwondo. Throughout his career, he has earned national gold medals in South Korea alongside international trophies. The Pompton Lakes location is part of the larger ONE Taekwondo network; which includes four other schools in New Jersey, all operating under the same name and system.
The new location hopes to enroll 100 students in the first year, then continue serving more families in the community. They also plan to bring in additional instructors to broaden class offerings.
