Parents tired of finding Nerf darts stuck to every wall in the house are in luck. NJ Battle Zones in Randolph and Wayne provides kids with indoor Nerf arenas where they can battle it out. The space is ideal for birthday parties, team-building exercises, and small groups looking for an afternoon activity.
NJ Battle Zones first opened in Randolph in 2021, with a second location in Wayne that opened March 2025. The latest location in Wayne is a 12,000-square foot space with two arenas. “We’ve always wanted our second location to be here,” says Roy Samaniego, owner. “It’s a great town that we know would support a family owned and operated small business.” Meanwhile, The Randolph location offers a 6,000-square-foot arena.

Parties, Team-building, & More
The spots host an array of activities. Birthday parties are a hit of course, with different types of packages to accommodate various party sizes. All parties offer 60 minutes of organized battle in an arena, plus 30 minutes in their fully-decorated party room. Party packages also include servers who will set up, serve, and clean up. Every package includes pizza, juice boxes, water, and paper products (cups, plates, napkins, etc.) with the price.
NJ Battle Zones is also a unique idea for team-building events. It’s a great way for teammates, employees, coworkers, or peers to relieve stress, exercise, and bond while having fun. Private parties can be tailored to suit businesses, youth team sports, community clubs, or any other type of organization.
Entering NJ Battle Zones
NJ Battle Zones gives all participating players eye protection and reviews the arena’s rules before each session. Besides private parties and group reservations, they offer open play which cost $25 for one hour of game play. Games include Capture the Flag, Last Team Standing, and Last Man Standing.
Roy owns the business along with his wife, Danielle. Roy has a finance background and Danielle is a nurse anesthetist. They hope to open a third location in northern New Jersey. “The idea came from me,” says Danielle. “My Nerf-loving son was turning six and I was looking for a place to have a Nerf party. When looking around, I noticed there wasn’t anything and jokingly said to my husband that it would be a good idea to have a place for that. A year later, my husband wanted a career change and NJ Battle Zones was born.”
