This is Yoga NJ Takes Classes to the Beach, Zoo & Beyond

Yoga has many health benefits, as well as plenty of fans in NJ. But sometimes the routine of studio yoga can get boring. This is Yoga NJ in Seaside Park is coming to the rescue, boasting fun studio classes plus outdoor yoga events. Starting as a pop-up yoga community in 2017, the business now brings yoga classes to events around the state.

Our goal was to share our love of yoga and connect with people in nontraditional spaces to make people more comfortable with the concept of yoga,” say founders Amanda Truppo and Jennie Madama. “We truly believe that yoga is for everyBODY.”

If you adore animals and nature, they offer yoga in the heart of local zoos. During the summer, they host beach yoga complete with live acoustic music and a family beach yoga night. (There’s even a pizza party!) Come fall and winter, special yoga events include Teacher Appreciation Night, Fall Equinox Celebration, Yoga Hike, and Reiki 1 Certification.

The Studio

The studio space is calming and open, done in neutral tones with pops of color and cheer. “Our goal was to keep the space looking and feeling clean, warm and inviting,” say the founders.

“When you walk through the door, you’ll feel welcome right away. People often comment that they feel so comfortable in the studio.”

This is Yoga NJ diffuses essential oils for aromatherapy. Meanwhile, dimmable, LED lights provide proper lighting for evening classes. Finally, some flame-less candles and a salt lamp add one last cozy touch. Plus, the studio gets plenty of natural light during the day through two big front windows. For each session, the instructor selects music to set the tone and help the class focus.

What They Offer

“We offer a variety of classes to meet the needs of everyone and anyone; from all ages, body types, levels and practices,” say the founders. For example, “Lighten Up” is beginner friendly and uses gentle and slow moves. “Align & Strength” is also a beginner class, teaching alignment cues and the basics of yoga. “Fire Up” is for experienced yogis, which raises your heart rate, builds strength and strokes your inner fire.

In addition, “Wave Flow” is a slow-flow class. This class has a slower pace, aiming to build strength, flow, and mindful moves while bringing awareness to your breathing. Of course, “This is Yoga Flow” is their signature fun, all-levels flow.

The studio even offers Mommy & Me Yoga on Wednesdays. For offices and parties, they also offer private group yoga for offices or parties. Individual classes are available, however, you must reach out directly so they can set something up.

This is Yoga NJ has a number of multi-class passes for you to choose from. These include a five-class pass, 10-class pass, monthly unlimited pass and 10-class friendly pass. (The latter is good for 10 classes that up to three people can use). They don’t have pre-registration, so anyone is welcome to drop in.
