Willow and Whisk in Wyckoff Elevates Classic Diner Favorites

Willow and Whisk Exterior

A new dining spot is now open in Wyckoff. Willow and Whisk takes classic diner dishes and turns them on their head with a unique and signature flair. The true family restaurant is owned by siblings AJ and Rich DiBenedetto, along with their cousin Evan D’Auge.

The DiBenedettos also own CARS Sandwiches & Shakes in Ramsey and Montclair. Meanwhile, D’Auge previously worked in finance; he always enjoyed cooking, though, and was ready for a career change. “We’re always looking to diversify our restaurant holdings,” AJ says. Growing up in Ramsey, and familiar with the area, AJ knew opening in Wycoff’s Boulder Run was a no-brainer.

“The town is great for this type of restaurant,” he explains. “People appreciate the décor and that our food is a little elevated and more upscale.”

Outdoors, Willow and Whisk seats 70 (but they ask guests to make reservations for parties of five or more). The outdoor seating is under a tent in the parking lot, as well as on the sidewalk beneath umbrellas. Inside, however, the 3,600-square foot venue seats 100. AJ says it boasts a bright, open, modern country feel. You’ll find pastels and natural wood, and also a 12-foot willow tree in the middle if the interior. Meanwhile, their coffee bar holds taps for cold tea, cold brew, and nitro coffee.

Willow and Whisk Serves New Takes on Old Favorites

The Willow and Whisk menu favors quality of quantity in terms of the number of options. As for what’s popular, AJ says the mini brioche French toast is a hit among kids and adults alike. Then there’s a breakfast spin on traditional Cacio e Pepe pasta that comes with eggs. The eggs Benedict and smoked salmon Benedict are also doing well, according to AJ.

When it comes to lunch, salads, sandwiches, and burgers make up most of the menu. The signature Willow Burger comes with cheddar, avocado, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle aioli on a brioche bun. “It’s not a huge menu but it’s well-rounded,” AJ says. Click here to see the full menu.

Gluten-free patrons have options at Willow and Whisk as well, including gluten-free pancakes. In addition, any sandwich can be made on gluten-free bread. However, only the salad options are vegetarian friendly. The kids’ menu offers smaller portions of adult offerings like pancakes, chicken fingers, hamburgers, grilled cheese, and egg dishes.
