The Loaded Spoon Serves Modern Classics in Freehold

Fans of classic American restaurants can now visit The Loaded Spoon in Freehold. The massive eatery is adjacent to iPlay America at Renaissance Plaza, and serves modern cuisine with French and Italian flair. With a variety of dinner, weekend brunch, and drink options, the restaurant invites guests to #GetLoaded and have fun.

The Loaded Spoon is 7,000-square feet, with room for 245 guests at tables and 33 at the bar. One section of their dining experience includes a large indoor garden. “Each space in the restaurant is designed meticulously,” says Food and Beverage Director Christopher DeLuca. “Guests can choose from a multitude of dining options; from the sleek conversational-style bar, engaging group dining areas for celebrations, and exclusive captain’s tables overlooking the pastry kitchen.”

A Loaded Menu

The Loaded Spoon has a special #GetLoaded part of the menu with shareables for three to five people. Favorites from this list include burrata balls, garlic toast, and the Cast Away (fried calamari, scallops, and shrimp). As for entrees, Executive Chef John Dougherty’s favorite menu item is the Pork Trio. It features a pork tenderloin, chorizo hash, bacon honey vinaigrette, sweet potato puree, and a potato haystack. “It’s as visually appealing as it is delicious,” Christopher says.

Indoor Garden

Meanwhile, weekend brunch at The Loaded Spoon features Irish nachos (waffle fries with cheddar and bacon) and biscuits and gravy. Shareable brunch choices range from the donut tower to cinnamon buns or croffles (croissant waffles).

The Loaded Spoon also has a dessert menu with shakes, desserts, scoops, and shareables. Popular picks include the Unicornation; a strawberry milkshake with confetti and shimmer, donut holes, Fruity Pebbles, sugar cone, whipped cream, rock candy, and cotton candy. Other desserts include bread pudding, fudge brownies, dark chocolate whiskey cake, and house-made vanilla cream puffs. Their massive Megatron shareable comes with 24 scoops of ice cream plus whipped cream and a host of sweet toppings.

The liquor menu at The Loaded Spoon includes craft cocktails, beer, and wine. For instance, the “What’s Up Doc?” mixes mint vodka, carrot, St. Germaine Elderflower, lime, and yuzu. Likewise, the “Let’s Spoon” comes with gin, Chambord, raspberry jam, and lemon.

The restaurant also doubles as a nightlife destination thanks to guest DJs on weekends. They hosts DJs every Friday and Saturday starting at 9:00 pm. Current DJs on the schedule include Joe Ferdico, DJ Licious, and Deen Anthony.
