Hudson County’s hot-spot for live sports, waterfront dining, and elevated American Cuisine just celebrated its 5-year anniversary. The Highwood has been a fan-favorite destination for years thanks to its NYC skyline views, creative menu, and cocktails. The restaurant’s unique layout makes it perfect for romantic dinners and watching live sports alike.
The Highwood’s anniversary is significant, because the restaurant first opened during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Despite the difficult timing, the restaurant has been able to survive and even thrive as a local favorite. With an elevated American menu, Manhattan skyline views, and a 10-foot TV wall, the restaurant has something for everyone.

Live Sports & Livelier Bar Crowd
Sport fans come to The Highwood to enjoy live games and upscale bar food. The restaurant offers a large TV wall behind one bar, plus an additional bar surrounded by TVs and seating options. Many TVs are also viewable from their outdoor patio, so patrons get the best of both worlds: Outdoor dining with waterfront views and live sports. Meanwhile, standout apps include Jalapeno Poppers (with cream cheese), spicy tuna tartare, hot buffalo wings, and their signature nachos. Their Port Imperial pizza (fresh mozzarella, soppressata, pepperoni, Mike’s Hot Honey) and Shrimp & Lobster Sliders are also popular.
The Highwood introduces a new food and drink menu seasonally. But sports fans can always look forward to over a dozen beers on tap, plus popular bottles and cans. While some cocktails change, their two signature options are always available. The first is named after the restaurant, and features Flecha Reposade, pineapple juice, spicy honey syrup, and lemon juice. Their other signature cocktail, the Hickory Stick Old Fashioned, combines Old Hickory Bourbon with Clementino, honey syrup, and orange bitters.

Brunch, Beats, & Beyond
Game Day and dinner time aren’t the only reasons to visit the Highwood. They also offer brunch every Saturday and Sunday, and an in-house DJ during special events. Seasonal special events and menus keep things fresh throughout the year. For instance, their Oktoberfest menu runs for a limited time from late September through early October.
This year, the Oktoberfest menu features Soft-baked German Pretzels (with sausages, housemade pickles, and beer cheese); Pork Smashed Burgers (with applesauce, grilled red onions, gruyere cheese, applewood smoked bacon, and ale mustard aoili; and classic Bratwurst & Sauerkraut.
