SB K-BBQ Combines Korean BBQ & Karaoke in Palisades Park

It’s not easy being an empty nester. When Grace Ryu’s daughter moved out after college, she had no one to cook for. Now, she shares her family recipes at SB K-BBQ, a modern Korean Barbecue restaurant in Palisades Park. Besides providing the recipes, Grace owns and manages the restaurant.

SB K-BBQ gives Grace a new way to feel connected to her family, customers, and community. “It’s about the relationships, culture, and stories we get to share with one another,” she explains. “All the food that I serve are my own recipes that I have cooked for my family throughout the years,” she continues. “Every time we light charcoal at a customer’s table, it’s a spark that supports my local suppliers, the employees, and their family’s dreams, and brings a unique cultural flavor to the town.”

Food, Drinks, & Fun

Popular items at SB K-BBQ include prime short rib and pork belly (the latter is Grace’s favorite). They also serve soju, a traditional Korean alcoholic drink made from rice that tastes similar to vodka. One fun drink that they offer is somaek, which is essentially a soju bomb. To make it, a shot glass of soju is balanced over chopsticks in a glass of beer. Patrons hit the table to knock the shot glass of soju off the chopsticks and into the beer glass. “The sweetness from the Korean beer and the sharpness of the soju perfectly balance each other out,” Grace says.

Leveraging the Power of Samsung Pro TVs

Meanwhile, Samsung Pro TVs are installed throughout the restaurant for use in creative ways. These TVs help showcase Ryu’s original recipes and host events like karaoke competitions and soccer watch parties. “The TVs make SB K-BBQ a great place to eat, learn about Korean culture, and have fun,” Grace explains. Karaoke begins at 4:00 pm for customers at no cost. (However, there is a fee for private groups.)

“Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, driving innovation, creating jobs, and strengthening our communities,” says David Phelps, Head of Display Division, Samsung Electronics America. “SB K-BBQ leverages Samsung displays to engage with customers in a variety of ways, from showcasing its standout dishes to hosting karaoke competitions. The technology enables Ryu and her team to share their culture while elevating the dining experience for customers.”
