The owner & CEO of PUSH in Hoboken, Emily Claman, has a scientific philosophy about fitness: the Law of Inertia. “An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion,” Emily says. The studio offers prenatal and postpartum fitness and functional training for pregnancy and new parenthood.
“Showing up for yourself looks different in every chapter of your life. Your fitness routine should support whatever phase of life you are in—not feel like a punishing task. Your fitness routine can morph and evolve and shift as you do,” Emily explains. “Do not compare your fitness journey to anyone else’s. Everybody is different, so focus on what makes YOU feel strong, connected to your body and motivated.”

A PUSH in the Right Direction
PUSH provides both personal training and group classes. In addition, they host fitness, health, and wellness workshops. Many activities focus on pregnancy and postpartum fitness, but classes are open to women in any stage of their life.
Emily prides herself on her approach to fitness. She believes in being kind, welcoming, supportive, motivating and positively impacting others. “My goal is to empower women to feel strong and deeply connected to their bodies.”

PUSH educates and trains women on the importance of their health and physical fitness. In particular, they pay special attention to deep core/pelvic floor function. This allows participants to build the strength and connection needed for a safe and healthy pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. “I approach each client individually, since no two pregnancies and no two women are the same.”
About the Business
Emily has been living and working in Hoboken since 2021. She’s originally from Montclair, and has been in the health and wellness industry for over a decade. She is accredited and certified in prenatal/postnatal fitness and prenatal/postnatal functional training.
For Emily, the décor and vibe at PUSH are important aspects of the studio. “I wanted to create a studio space that felt really good to be in. An oasis for women, if you will,” she says. The ceiling is pink, with plenty of natural light and plants. All equipment is from Bala, a fitness product company which Emily enjoys for their fresh color pairings. “The space is clean and inviting, and gives off a positive, welcoming energy.”
