There’s a new cafe bistro in Montclair that puts family front and center. Meet Me At Madison’s is named for Madison Sanchez, a Montclair High School student. The restaurant is owned by her parents.
“I believe my parents wanted to leave me something that I could learn and expand on,” Madison says. The 2,500-square foot restaurant, part of Watchung Plaza, seats 44 diners inside and 10 outside during nice weather.

A Collaborative Design
Meet Me at Madison’s was primarily designed by Madison’s mother, Madeline, who wanted a modern aesthetic. Meanwhile, her father and his architect together designed the hand-made wave ceiling. “I think it adds a unique touch to the place,” Madison says. The family also researched European design, hoping to create art resembling nature. Latin art adorns the wall, and influences many of the bistro’s little accents. “I love this restaurant because I know it was a project that we created together,” Madison says. “It was important to honor our family relationship by creating a place we all could be proud of. I’m happy to have accomplished that.”
The Sanchez family created Meet Me at Madison’s as a family, inspired by their love for travel and Latin culture. Even Venezuelan/Italian Chef Saverio Stassi’s menu is a fusion of cuisine that takes inspiration from his global travels. This enables him to create an array of flavor combinations and a menu with something for everyone. “The menu caters to Western tastes but also gives a refreshing Latin taste different from anything I’ve experienced,” Madison says. In the future, the family plans to introduce even more menu items that celebrate their culture and love of food.

What’s on the Menu
The bistro serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as brunch on Sunday. Signature drinks include the Paciencia y Fe; a creamy, golden Espresso with Dominican Organic Chocolate, cream, and milk. So far, popular items include the fried boneless Dutch country chicken sandwich, Popeye short pasta, and spicy Chilean sea bass. Meet Me at Madison’s also offers desserts like Basque cheesecake, with Dominican chocolate tahini sauce, creme anglaise, and rhum foam.
Breakfast options include cold pressed juices, an array of coffee drinks, avocado toast, Eggs Benedict, and breakfast sandwiches. They also serve an assortment of wraps, sandwiches, and salads, including croissant sandwiches and a Quinoa Caprese salad. Click here to see the full menu.
