The two Co-founders of Kook Burger in Brigantine – Braeden Anderson and Selena Gabrielle – have a simple mission. They want to have fun taking their food seriously, exceeding expectations by serving gourmet burgers using high quality ingredients.
Kook Burger offers burgers along with their signature Shoobie Shakes in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The owners hope their food and service brings joy to patrons, creating a memorable experience. The 1,600-square-foot space can seat 15 to 20 inside, plus over 50 diners on their outdoor wraparound patio. Besides the Brigantine location, the team opened Kook Burger & Bar in Philadelphia in February 2023.

Life’s a Beach
Kook Burger’s décor is surfer-themed with a casual and beachy vibe. The color palette features light blues and yellowish oranges, evoking the colors of the ocean and the sun. The furniture is comfortable, with cushioning and soft fabrics. Likewise, wicker or rattan chairs, sofas, and coffee tables provide a natural and organic feel. “The surfer-themed décor and beachy accents make for a fun and unique dining experience that transports visitors to a coastal paradise,” Braeden says.
Opening Kook Burger in Brigantine was an easy sell for Braeden and Selena. “We absolutely love the beach and the ocean; and Brigantine has some of the most beautiful beaches in the area,” Braeden says. “When we were looking for a place to start a family, we knew we wanted to be near the water. We also wanted to find a town with a strong sense of community; where we could get to know our neighbors and feel like we were a part of something. Brigantine seemed like the perfect fit.”

Gourmet Burgers & Shakes
Kook Burger serves smash burgers made with a 4-ounce patty on a brioche bun. The chef uses 100% natural Certified Angus Beef steak patties without any steroids, antibiotics, or growth hormones. The creative menu features options like the Local, with bacon, cheddar, BBQ sauce, and mayo. But their Broski Burger is a fan favorite, featuring bacon, jalapenos, goat cheese, and sriracha mayo. Then there’s the Kalifornia Klassic with guacamole, pickles, onion, and Kook sauce. Of course, their classic Plain Jane is just the patty and bun. Click here to see the full menu.
However, Braeden’s favorite item right now is the Braeden Special breakfast sandwich. “The combination of brioche bun, Kook sauce, two fried eggs, bacon, hash-brown patty, and cheddar cheese is heavenly,” he says. “It’s the perfect blend of breakfast and burger elements, and every bite is packed with flavor and texture.”

Besides burgers, Kook Burger offers chicken and spicy chicken sandwiches, plus chicken nuggets and both vegan and gluten-free options. Burgers can also be made as a salad or in a lettuce wrap. Their signature drink is the Shoobie Shake® milkshake. These artistic dessert shakes are topped with big slices of cheesecake, cotton candy, ice cream sandwiches, brownies, and more. Depending on the shake, they also come with Oreos, M&M’s, Nerds, or other sweets pressed right into the glass.
