F St Social Brings Craft Pizza & More to Belmar

F St Social Interior

Pizza lovers have a new place to call home in Belmar. F St Social is a restaurant that serves signature craft pizzas as well as an assortment of other menu options. Owners Kristen and Stephen Smith, who live in town, transformed the empty 3,000-sq ft space into a comfortable eatery.

“We want it to have a cozy vibe and character, and for people to love the atmosphere,” Kristen says. The décor includes exposed brick, a chandelier, and Edison bulbs. “It’s rustic yet somewhat upscale. We put it all together ourselves. It was a family affair,” she adds. F St Social can seat 100 diners inside, and also offers seasonal outdoor dining beneath an awning-covered patio.

Craft Pizza & More

The menu at F St Social “has a little bit of everything,” according to Kristen. For instance, they serve thin crust craft pizzas made in their pizza oven from Italy. Signature pies include the bee sting pizza, with pepperoni and imported Italian hot honey drizzle. Likewise, Berg’s pastrami Reuben pie has pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss with a drizzle of Thousand Island dressing.

However, “once we saw the space, we knew we had to do more than just pizza,” she explains. Starters include the house-made fried cauliflower bites, sizzling garlic steak toast, and avocado fries. One popular entree option is the Nashville hot honey chicken sandwich. The F Street salad – mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, onion, dried cranberry, candied walnut, crumbled feta, croutons – is also a hit. But Kristen’s favorite dish is the fresh salmon, which they can prepare in teriyaki, blackened, grilled, or piccata style.

Finally, their dessert menu boasts fried cheesecake and homemade zeppoles with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce. F St Social is BYOB, but they also sell bottles from Valenzano Winery in Shamong.

About the Business

F St Social enjoys hosting private parties such as weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, and graduation parties. Guests can either rent out different parts of the restaurant or book the whole space. Future plans include serving breakfast or brunch on the weekend.

Prior to opening F St Social, Stephen owned a restaurant (he is also a builder). Meanwhile, Kristen has experience as a waitress and bartender. “This building has been here for years, and everyone was waiting for something amazing to come to town,” Kristen says. “People have told us this has become their hometown restaurant.”
