Among all the pizza shops in South Jersey, Barclay Pies feels they stand out because of their inclusive menu. Their diverse menu offers ample options for gluten-free and/or dairy-free patrons. They even have an allergen chart on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
“We have celiac and vegan family members, so we wanted to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone can enjoy a delicious meal together, all from one kitchen,” the owners explain. “Our goal is to create an inclusive environment for people with and without food allergies.”

A Pizza For Every Taste
Barclay Pies serves nine pizza varieties, including five red and four white pies. Red options include plain, pepperoni, sausage, pineapple, and a dairy-free margherita. The latter features dairy-free mozzarella cheese from Miyokos Creamery. In addition, the menu offers arugula, mushroom, broccoli, and Buffalo chicken white pies. These pizzas are made with King Arthur flour and California-sourced tomatoes.
One of their most distinct pies – and one of the owners’ favorites – is the pineapple. It’s made with pork roll, pineapple, and pickled jalapenos for a New Jersey twist on the typical Hawaiian. Meanwhile, their popular broccoli pie uses cooper sharp cheddar, sausage, and pepper relish. Another recommended option is the mushroom pizza made with caramelized onions and shaved cremini.
Besides pizza, fan-favorite items range from gluten-free mozzarella sticks to buffalo wings made with homemade buffalo sauce. To drink, Barclay Pies offers a menu of nonalcoholic beverages including the Phony Negroni, a non-alcoholic spritz, and SanBitter.
About Barclay Pies
Barclay Pies is locally owned by longtime friends and first-time restaurateurs Thomas (TJ) Hunton and Daniel Romero. “We’re both South Jersey locals, so it felt natural to open in Cherry Hill; a neighborhood that we already know and love, with it’s thriving food scene,” they say.
The neighborhood pizzeria features a hunter green, pink, and cream-colored motif throughout the dining room. Besides a fast-casual pizza counter, the interior offers seating for up to 50 guests with booths, tables, and chairs. Seasonal patio seating for 30 is available in front of the shop.
To educate customers about their vegan and gluten-free pies, they publish videos online breaking down how pizzas are made. For instance, all pies can be made gluten-free using Caputo’s gluten-free flour. Likewise, they have a separate prep area and equipment whenever cooking with this flour, to avoid cross contamination.
