Abramzon & David’s Delicatesse Comes to Old Bridge

Stacked Sandwich from Abramzon & David's Delicatesse

At Abramzon & David’s Delicatesse in Old Bridge, guests will experience more than a typical grab-and-go deli. Instead, this atypical, chef-driven sandwich shop has patrons peruse cookbooks while enjoying a meal with friends. The menu boasts gourmet sandwiches, sides, coffees, pastries, and more.

“We’ve curated a menu of nostalgic classics with quality ingredients, and also have some creative spins that are different than anything we’ve seen,” says Neilly Robinson, owner and managing director of Back and Forth Hospitality. To keep things interesting for returning customers, a new sandwich from a chef within the hospitality group is available monthly. Otherwise, the menu stays the same daily with only a rotating sandwich or two.

Unique Sandwich Options

Abramzon & David’s is headed by Chef de Cuisine Zachary Abramzon, Head Chef Jack Cunningham, and James Beard-nominated chef David Viana. Together, they craft original takes on deli classics like the meatball parm, chopped Italian, and Italian beef. Their version of the Cubano features mojo pork and guava jam; while the Thai tuna melt includes scallions, coconut cream cheese, cilantro, and carrots.

They even elevate the timeless turkey club: At Abramzon & David’s, they call it the Jive Turkey. This stacked sandwich features turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, avocado, apricot chutney, and Muenster. Meanwhile, their veggie melt with braised collards, cheddar, and coleslaw is perfect for vegetarians.

Sides are modern takes on deli classics. Menu highlights range from potato salad and pickle plates to sweet and sour lentils and beet orange avocado hazelnut salad.

Signature coffees at Abramzon & David’s offer one-of-a-kind flavors with menu hits like the cafe con leche. Specialty seasonal flavors rotate throughout the year. Likewise, Pastry Chef Shante Dorsett creates a dessert menu with rotating cookie flavors and pastry specials. Previous favorites include brown butter Rice Krispie treats and chocolate chip cookies.

About Abramzon & David’s Delicatesse

Abramzon & David’s seats 16 indoors, with a few tables, chairs, and benches outdoors. It’s located right next to the hospitality group’s original concept, Heirloom Kitchen. The space boasts off-white tile and bright, retro light fixtures to give the deli a nostalgic vibe. Walls are decorated with playful custom art by Los Angeles-based artist Alyssa Zack, while cookbooks line the shelves.

Abramzon & David’s is co-owned by David Viana and Neilly Robinson. They also own Judy & Harry’s in Asbury Park and Lita’s in Aberdeen. “We felt Old Bridge was lacking in truly delicious delis and we wanted to fill that gap,” Neilly says.

Pouring Milk into gourmet coffee
