Down to Earth Living Home and Garden Center, with its gracious outdoor living furnishings and beautiful home décor, will host a series of Summer Gardening Workshops during the months of April and May.
Registration is not necessary for the workshops; simply show up fifteen minutes early on the day of the event. Located minutes from the NJ border in Pomona, NY, Down to Earth Living has been serving residents in the North Jersey area for nearly four decades.

Spring Gala Comes to Pomona
When: Saturday, April 13th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Details: Internationally known Bonsai artist Mauro Stemberger is hosting a demonstration at the Bonsai Shack for the 2nd Annual Spring Gala. Mauro Stemberger is one of the most interesting, entertaining and dynamic Bonsai Masters of our time. Mauro will demonstrate how to style, prune and wire Bonsai. All the supplies used, including tools, wire, pots, soil and plants, will be available for purchase.
Bonsai for Beginners
When: Saturday, April 20th, 11am – 12:30pm
Details: Bonsai for Beginners workshop at the Bonsai Shack hosted by Down to Earth Living. This workshop is geared toward beginners. Giving you an insight into this fascinating art. A storewide sale on all Bonsai trees and related items all day. Stop by and give Bonsai a try!
Bring Your Own Bonsai Tree Workshop
When: Saturday, April 27th, 11am – 12:30pm
Details: Sergio Cuan will be at the Bonsai shack! Sergio will demonstrate how to take your trees to the next level. Space is extremely limited. Please contact John at (845) 304-2183 to reserve a spot. Cost for the workshop is $75 per person. If you would like to attend and listen but not bring your trees you may do so at no charge.
Vegetable Gardening 101
When: Sunday, April 28th, 2pm – 3pm
Details: If you would like to start growing fresh vegetables in your backyard or in containers – this workshop is for you! Bring fresh, nutritious produce from your garden to your table. You will know where your vegetables come from – one of the many benefits of home gardening. Save money and get the family outside to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Seeds and other supplies needed to start your vegetable garden will be available for purchase after the workshop. All ages welcome.
Container Gardening for Beautifying your Outdoor Space
When: Sunday, May 5th, 2pm – 3pm
Details: Participants will be introduced to the creative world of container gardening in this fun workshop. Container gardening is perfect if you only have a small space for gardening or want to add colorful spot gardens for depth and interest. Wine and cheese will be served as the instructor explains the aspects of container gardens. You will have the opportunity to design and build your own container garden to take home. Soda will be available.
