Hunterdon County Weddings: Top 10 Wedding Venues

 
This Hunterdon County Weddings was our first one on BestofNJ.com and now it has a new home. Our NJ Weddings Directory is dedicated to helping brides find great banquet halls, photographers and wedding planners all over the state. The inspiration for this article comes from the success of our feature on Bucks County Weddings that we wrote several years ago.

Some of the great wedding venues in this feature include: Lambertville Station, Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton, Main Street Manor in Flemington, Chimney Hill Estate in Lambertville, the Holiday Inn and The Hunterdon Museum of Art in Clinton.

# 1 The Red Mill, Clinton, NJ

The Red Mill was chosen for the number one spot because of the incredible beauty of this location along the South Branch of the Raritan River in the middle of what has to one of the most charming little towns in New Jersey. It’s one of the most beautiful locations you’ll find within hundreds of miles. The mill is located next door to an odd yellow bridge, a wide wonderful waterfall with canoes, ducks and turtles and another historic mill across the river. # 2 Prallsville Mill, Stockton NJ

The Prallsville Mill property is probably the most unusual venue in our survey. We chose it for the number two spot for weddings in Hunterdon County because of the beauty of the location near the Delaware River, the beautiful old stone and wooden buildings on the site, and the fascinating history of the Mills dating back to the early 1700′s. The mill is located in the charming little town of Stockton New Jersey a few miles north of Lambertville and New Hope. To learn more you can visit the Mill online here. # 3 The Grand Colonial, Hampton, NJ

The Grand Colonial in Hampton New Jersey was chosen for our number three spot for several reasons. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. At the center of the property is the historic old stone inn built in 1685.  The quality of the food is rated as outstanding. The bridal suite, and fine appointments of the Grand Ballroom also helped it place high in our survey. The Grand Colonial was called the Coach and Paddock for years until it underwent a complete makeover and reopened with a whole new outlook in 2009. Visit them online here. # 4 Chimney Hill Estate, Lambertville, NJ

Chimney Hill was chosen for the number four spot on our survey because of the old stone inn and landscaped gardens that surround the estate. Chimney Hill can handle everything from lodging, catering, tent and chair rentals, wedding cakes, floral arrangements, and accommodate weddings of up to 125 guests. Visit them online here.

#5 Hamilton’s Grill Room, Lambertville, NJ

Hamilton’s was chosen for the number five spot on our survey simply because of the food. It is one of the best restaurants in the entire area. In addition to this, the facilities and the location are beautiful. To find out more about their offerings, visit them online here.

# 6 Holiday Inn, Clinton, NJ

The Holiday Inn Select in Clinton was chosen for our number six spot because of the size of the facilities and the “all-inclusive” convenience of having the hotel, the ballroom, the restaurants and a nightclub all in one location. # 7 Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, Hampton, NJ

The Hunterdon Hills Playhouse was chosen for our number seven spot because of the size of the facilities and the extensive grounds of the estate. The playhouse features a dining room with seating for 500 people, which makes it the largest wedding venue in our survey. The eighty acre property features forests, manicured lawns, a gazebo and a lake. The playhouse has been hosting weddings for thirty years. Visit them online here.

# 8 Harvest Moon Inn, Ringoes, NJ

The Harvest Moon was chosen for the number eight spot on our survey because of the rural location of the inn, the charm of the building and the variety of wedding packages that they offer. The Inn is housed in a historic structure built in 1811 in the charming rural community of Ringoes, New Jersey. # 9 Lambertville Station, Lambertville NJ

Lambertville Station was chosen for the number nine spot on our survey because of the charming scenic location of the inn on the Delaware River. The Inn also offers an all-in-one convenience of having the banquet rooms, hotel and restaurant all in one location. Lambertville Station can host weddings of up to 150 people. # 10 Hunterdon Museum of Art, Clinton NJ

The Hunterdon Museum of Art was chosen for our number 10 spot because of the incredibly beautiful setting that the museum makes for a wedding. It is located directly across from the Red Mill Museum which is our choice for the number one place for weddings in Hunterdon County and if the art museum had larger facilities to accommodate larger weddings, it would be in our number one spot. Perfect for intimate weddings, Main Street Manor is housed in a Victorian home in the heart of Flemington New Jersey. Visit them online.

Hunterdon County Arboretum, Clinton, NJ

The Hunterdon County Arboretum rents out a portion of the park grounds for weddings of up to 100 people. You can find out more here.

Beaver Brook Country Club, Annandale, NJ

Located just outside Clinton New Jersey and just off the interstate, the country club hosts weddings and celebrations with striking views of the surrounding countryside. See their website here.

The Woolverton Inn, Stockton NJ

Hunterdon County is located in Central Jersey and borders the Delaware River on the west, Mercer County on the south, Somerset County on the east and Warren County on the north.

   Thanks for mentioning us…we are a venue to note for sure! Thank you…We are not cookie cutter by any means and are known for bringing ‘the couple’s’ vision to life…Our belief is that each couple is different and has an idea of what they want their perfect day to be. We have done everything here at the Inn from an all seafood sit-down for 20 to a butler-passed upscale appie reception for 40. The Inns veranda and back gardens are perfection this time of year, so call us for a Tour and we’re happy to do our best to work within a budget given the current state of our economy!

   John,

   Thanks for the mention.. We are no doubt one of the top venue locations in Hunterdon County. Our Exec Chef Christine, still hand assembles every hor’dourves and bakes every wedding cake and 90% of all desserts on premise. I have recently took over the management of the front of the house and have raised the bar on the level of our service even higher then it was before.. I would love for you to come out and visit us for dinner.. We have our out-door patio open and have live music as well.
