New Brunswick, NJ (September 11, 2009)—The State Theatre announces its fall line-up for MILK & COOKIES, a FREE series of performances for children ages three to eight and their families. The program, fully-funded and sponsored by the Provident Bank Foundation and presented by the State Theatre, comprises a total of four performances at 10am and 12pm on two select Saturdays. Featuring live music and stories, the program features a diverse lineup of New Jersey performers. The fall schedule is as follows: Ken Galipeau: Campfire Stories & Songs on Sat, November 7; and Lisa Garwood: A Winter Celebration in Story and Song on Sat, December 5. Milk & Cookies events are free, but advance registration is required. To register, contact Jennifer Cunha at 732-246-7469, ext. 545 / jcunha@StateTheatreNJ.org. Because space is limited audiences are encouraged to register as early as possible.
Presented in the cozy confines of the State Theatre’s Heldrich Room, Milk & Cookies is an ideal introduction to the performing arts for young children and their families. The program incorporates audience participation to engage youngsters’ attention, and at the same time introduces the basic elements of good theater etiquette. True to the name of the series, children attending the shows will be treated to complimentary milk and cookies (while supplies last),
