Florence Township will celebrate Independence Day on July the 11th, 2015 with a full day of festivities. There will be a flag raising ceremony, a parade, a concert and a fireworks display. The day begins at 11:00 a.m. with the flag raising on the Oak Street Circle. The parade will step off at noon from Front and Oak Streets and it will feature floats, decorated bicycles, big wheels and baby walkers. There will be a centrally located reviewing stand located at Third Street and Broad. The township will serve free hot dogs and sodas to the parade participants at the end of the parade. The evening events will start at 6:00 p.m. with a concert at the Water Works Field which is next to the municipal complex. There will also be a food court with local food vendors at the concert. The fireworks will start about 9:10 p.m. They will be staged in Veterans Park behind the Florence Township Municipal Complex at 711 Broad Street. All of the day’s events are free. The rain date for the concert and fireworks will be Sunday, July 12, 2015.
