Dion 2 Bezu: an artist takes his gallery on the road

BestofNJ.com visits artist Dion Hitchings at his gallery studio in Frenchtown, New Jersey. The focus of this portrait interview is Dion’s upcoming trip to an international outsider art show in Bézu-Saint-Éloi, France. Bézu is a small village about an hour outside of Paris.

The Grand Baz’Art à Bézu festival celebrates outsider art, art that is more primitive, naive and outside the mainstream of art. Dion will be taking his own art and the work of 6 other artists from his gallery. The artists represented come from all over the United States: Bob Hoke & T Marie from Hannibal, Missouri, Kim Robertson from Easton, Pennsylvania, John Simpkins from Camp Sherman, Oregon, Hannah Fink from Princeton, New Jersey, Billy Fred Hellams from Anderson, South Carolina & Randy Tobias from Sylvia, North Carolina.
