Beer

Beer

Ramstein Munich Amber Lager(Oktoberfest)
6% ABV; Butler, NJ

This amber lager with a rich malty aroma, a smooth toasty palate, and subtle
noble hop finish is a recreation of an authentic German Oktoberfest beer
from the early 1900s.

First Course

Alp and Dell Cheese Fondue
A delicious combination of white wine, garlic, whole grain mustard and
nutmeg, with a smooth blend of award winning Gruyere, Raclette and Fontina
cheeses.

Paired with Anchor Steam
4.9% ABV; San Francisco, CA
This classic beer is virtually handmade in the traditional American brewing
style with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing.  The deep
amber color, thick creamy head, and rich flavor all testify to Anchor’s
traditional brewing methods.

Second Course

Mixed greens topped with oven roasted tomatoes, Gruyere, Raclette and
Fontina cheeses, hard boiled eggs and honey roasted almonds, topped with a
robust shallot vinaigrette.

Paired with Victory Festbier

Oktoberfest beers of Munich.  German malts and European hops make this lager
true to style.

Adobo Chancho

Adobo Chancho

La Granja Azul, Edison is a peruvian restaurant serving authentic peruvian food and cocktails on Woodbridge Avenue. Since our inception we have received good reviews from our customers and local publications. Our Ceviche has been mentioned as the best in town and our Pollo a la Brasa (Rotisserie Chicken) packs flavor on every bite.

We pride ourselves on preparing our dishes from fresh products and following family recipes. We go to great lengths to obtain authentic peruvian peppers, corn and other products to give our dishes the authentic peruvian flavor. Our main goal is to provide our customers with excellent taste, quality and service.

“Peru’s cuisine is probably the best kept food secret in South America. A bounty of Pacific seafood, a fiendish enthusiasm for chiles and a confluence of Latino, Native American and even Japanese and Chinese influences make for a remarkable virtuosity” … Food & Wine Magazine, May, 1998

La Granja Azul’s dining area is comfortable and welcoming. You can call ahead for your pick up order at (732)777-7311.

Rumson Restaurant Getting Rave Reviews and Ratings . Zagat

July 1, 2009 in Made in New Jersey, Restaurants in New Jersey, Romantic Getaways by BNJ

David Burke's Fromagerie Restaurant in Runson NJ

David Burke's Fromagerie Restaurant in Runson NJ

RUMSON, N.J. June 29, 2009 – David Burke Fromagerie received ten leading ratings in a wide range of categories in the Zagat 2009/10 New Jersey Restaurants guide, published annually. The New Jersey edition rates more than one thousand restaurants statewide based on the Zagat Survey of collective consumer opinions. 6,377 avid diners responded to the New Jersey survey. Zagat has been the world’s best-selling publisher of restaurant guides for 30 years.

Burke was included in special feature categories including Business Dining, Celebrity Chefs, Fireplaces, Historic Places; Meet for a Drink, Power Scenes, Romantic Places, Trendy, Visitors on an Expense Account, and Winning Wine List. These ratings place David Burke Fromagerie among the top-scoring Zagat restaurants nationwide.

About David Burke Fromagerie, the guide says: “Renowned” chef-owner David Burke brings his “top-of-the-line” “magic” to this “Rumson Landmark,” offering New American fare distinguished by “intriguing flavor profiles” and “artistic presentation”; most applaud the “lighter and brighter” “pretty room.”

“Since this is the sentimental favorite of all of my restaurants, the one where I initially decided to become a chef, I am especially proud that we are carrying on the exceptional quality standards that my mentors Hubert and Markus Peter established at this restaurant 37 years ago, albeit re-invigorated by the new and contemporary spirit of our creative American cuisine and lighter, brighter, more casual dining spaces” says Chef David Burke. “Now we’re working extremely hard to offer attractive private dining in our wine cellar and our art-inspired second level dining space as well as creative, seasonal prix fixe menus, in addition the ten special feature categories included in this year’s Zagat New Jersey Guide.”

Everyone knows that Jersey makes the best stuff, from Jersey Fresh produce to gourmet Jersey Made foodstuffs. Beginning June 10, two Jersey boys – Celebrity Chef David Burke and Bob Sickles, third-generation owner/operator of Sickles Market in Little Silver – have teamed up to treat restaurant-goers to seasonal spring-into-summer menus at David Burke Fromagerie in Rumson.

“We did something similar last autumn,” says Bob Sickles, “and everyone, including us, enjoyed it so much we’ve decided to do it again in a new season full of the freshest, local bright tastes of spring and summer. It’s a great partnership to work with David on interpreting seasonal ingredients into fine cuisine, and our customers reap the pleasure of a unique dining experience.”

Diners will experience innovative $35.00 prix fixe menus each Wednesday night featuring the best of that week’s fresh local harvest as well as Jersey Made gourmet foodstuffs. The first waves of produce will highlight asparagus, baby beets, beet greens, lettuces and greens, spinach and strawberries, moving on to snap beans, peas and squash in mid-June, and blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, broccoli, cucumbers and onions arriving in late June. Jersey Made food products also featured on the menus will include artisanal cheeses, honeys, salsas and sauces, fish, meat and poultry products, breads and pastries, and more. Wine pairings will be suggested for each course.

“There’s nowhere better than Jersey,” says Chef David Burke. “From the expected to the unexpected, New Jersey is bursting with flavorful ingredients. From summer produce and salt water taffy to barbecued ribs and Taylor Pork Roll, we’ve got it all. We are excited about presenting our customers with new and surprising menus each week.”

Sickles Market – celebrating 101 years in retail in 2009 – is a nationally recognized, third generation family-owned market and a trusted source for quality selections of produce, baked goods, gourmet grocery items, hand cut-to-order artisanal cheeses, prepared foods, cut flowers, a garden center, and a gift department. Sickles Market is located on ancestral property that dates back to a King’s Land Grant in 1663.
