Christmas 2009

FRENCHTOWN, NJ – Pere Noel (“Father Christmas”), the French version of Santa Claus, will arrive in Historic Downtown Frenchtown, Saturday December 5th at 3 pm for his annual visit sponsored by the Frenchtown Business & Professional Association.

Pere Noel will be driven into town on a fire truck by the Frenchtown Volunteer Fire Department. Upon arrival he will visit the local merchants accompanied by his elves, before stopping at the corner of Bridge Street and Harrison Street to visit with children, hearing their wish lists, and taking photographs.

At 5pm Pere Noel will lead Christmas caroling prior to the lighting of the Christmas tree located at TD Bank on the corner of Bridge Street and Harrison Street. The tree was sponsored by the Frenchtown Lion’s Club.
Pere Noel’s visit coincides with Frenchtown’s “Shopping Just Got Better” promotion. Any purchase of $25 or more at a participating merchant qualifies for an entry in the FBPA merchant/restaurant raffle. This year the FBPA is offering two prize packages totaling more than $500 each. The packages include gift certificates and merchandise from the participating members.
