Lambertville is located in the western part of Hunterdon County on the Delaware River in Central Jersey. This charming town on the Delaware River is famous for many things today. First and foremost it is the sister city of  the famous art community of New Hope in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Secondly, it is a popular romantic getaway destination with great bed and breakfast inns, incredible shopping, and some of the best restaurants in the region. It is also well known as one of the best sources for antiques in New Jersey and in the entire Northeast. It has a large antique mall downtown, numerous small antique stores scattered along Union and Bridge Streets and a gigantic antique and flea market called the Gold Nugget just south of town. Lambertville is located in the Upper Delaware Valley.

Prallsville Mills is a historic inn that is used for weddings, antique shows and special events. Stockton is well known as a destination for cycling. Every weekend groups of bicyclists arrive to make the run to Frenchtown up Route 29. Stockton is located in the Upper Delaware Valley. Insectropolis is a fun and unique insect learning center, set within the architecture of a bug-themed city, that dazzles visitors of all ages. Creative displays entertain guests as they learn about these fascinating creatures.

View thousands of beautiful and bizarre exotic insects from all over the world. Play bug games on our touch-screen computers. Pretend you are a termite as you crawl through our mudtube. Watch ants forage for food and build tunnels in our live ant nest. Safely get up close to our observation hive and see our busy bees. Or spy on our many other live insects. Of course, your visit is not complete unless you touch a bug! Touch a live tarantula, scorpion, millipede, and a hissing cockroach before you leave. Whether you are a bug enthusiast or just a curious visitor, Insectropolis has over a dozen exhibit areas that are sure to educate and entertain.

The following are some of the upcoming events that will be taking place at Insectropolis:

Bug Hunt – August 1st
Search for facts, specimens, pictures while exploring Insectropolis. Visitors completing our indoor scavenger hunt will be rewarded with a small prize. Free with admission, 10am – 3pm.

The Not-so Itsy Bitsy Spider – August 8th
Tarantulas are big, hairy spiders that have a bad reputation. Visit Insectropolis and join our special group discussion and learn more about the often-misunderstood Tarantula. Free with paid admission 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Bee Happy – August 15th

Cockroach Races – August 22nd
Roaches are fast runners. Come & find out who’s the fastest! Races will be held throughout the day from 10am to 3pm. Free with admission.

Boo at the Zoo – October 17th
Indoor Halloween family fun. 5pm-8pm. The Scooby Doo Gang visits the Bug Museum for Halloween. While on a tour, they discover that the sacred gold beetle is missing. Where is it and who took it? Help uncover clues as you explore our spooky exhibits with only a flashlight. Get a prize when you solve the case. Fun for all ages. Advance tickets are recommended.

Admission is $7.00. Children 2 and under are free. Group discounts are available for 15 or more.

Summer hours: Mon-Sat, 10am-3pm. All other seasons: Tues-Sat, 10am-3pm.
