The inspiration for this article comes from the success of our feature on the Top ten best places for weddings in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The best wedding ceremony and wedding reception venues in Hunterdon County, New Jersey are:

# 1 The Red Mill, Clinton, NJ

The Red Mill was chosen for our number one spot because of the grandeur of the location at this historic mill along the South Branch of the Raritan River. It is one of the most beautiful locations that you will ever find within hundreds of miles. The mill is located next door to a historic scenic bridge, a wide waterfall, a charming small art museum across the river and the small town of Clinton New Jersey. # 2 Prallsville Mill, Stockton NJ

The Prallsville Mill property is probably the most unique property in our survey with it’s . We chose this as the number two location for weddings in Hunterdon County because of the beauty of the location near the Delaware River, the beautiful old stone and wooden buildings on the site, and the fascinating history of the Mills dating back to the early 1700’s. The mill is located in the charming little town of Stockton New Jersey a few miles north of Lambertville and New Hope. To learn more you can visit the Mill online here. # 3 The Grand Colonial, Hampton, NJ

The Grand Colonial in Hampton New Jersey was chosen for our number three spot because of the beauty of the grounds, the historic old inn that was built in 1685 at the center of the property, the quality of the food, the bridal suite, and for the beauty and fine appointments of the Grand Ballroom. The Grand Colonial was called the Coach and Paddock for years until it underwent a complete makeover and reopened with a whole new outlook earlier this year. Visit them online here. # 4 Chimney Hill Estate, Lambertville, NJ

Chimney Hill was chosen for the number four spot on our survey because of the old stone inn and landscaped gardens that surround the estate. Chimney Hill can handle everything from lodging, catering, tent and chair rentals, wedding cakes, floral arrangements, and accommodate weddings of up to 125 guests. Visit them online here.

#5 Hamilton’s Grill Room, Lambertville, NJ

Hamilton’s was chosen for the number five spot on our survey simply because of the food. It is one of the best restaurants in the entire area. In addition to this, the facilities and the location are beautiful. To find out more about their offerings, visit them online here.

# 6 Holiday Inn, Clinton, NJ

The Holiday Inn Select in Clinton was chosen for our number six spot because of the size of the facilities and the “all-inclusive” convenience of having the hotel, the ballroom, the restaurants and a nightclub all in one location. # 7 Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, Hampton, NJ

The Hunterdon Hills Playhouse was chosen for our number seven spot because of the size of the facilities and the extensive grounds of the estate. The playhouse features a dining room with seating for 500 people, which makes it the largest wedding venue in our survey. The eighty acre property features forests, manicured lawns, a gazebo and a lake. The playhouse has been hosting weddings for thirty years. Visit them online here.

# 8 Harvest Moon Inn, Ringoes, NJ

The Harvest Moon was chosen for the number eight spot on our survey because of the rural location of the inn, the charm of the building and the variety of wedding packages that they offer. The Inn is housed in a historic structure built in 1811 in the charming rural community of Ringoes, New Jersey. # 9 Lambertville Station, Lambertville NJ

Lambertville Station was chosen for the number nine spot on our survey because of the charming scenic location of the inn on the Delaware River. The Inn also offers an all-in-one convenience of having the banquet rooms, hotel and restaurant all in one location. Lambertville Station can host weddings of up to 150 people. # 10 Hunterdon Museum of Art, Clinton NJ

The Hunterdon Museum of Art was chosen for our number 10 spot because of the incredibly beautiful setting that the museum makes for a wedding. It is located directly across from the Red Mill Museum which is our choice for the number one place for weddings in Hunterdon County and if the art museum had larger facilities to accommodate larger weddings, it would be in our number one spot.
